Privacy Policy — InfluenceGift

This privacy policy describes how Devhoot (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and stores information when you install and use the InfluenceGift application (“the App”) on your Shopify store.

1. Who we are

2. What the App does

InfluenceGift lets merchants create gift discount codes. Recipients apply the code at checkout to receive free products (and optionally free shipping) according to rules set by the merchant. The App runs embedded in the Shopify Admin.

3. Information we collect

When a merchant installs the App, we may store:

• Store information: shop domain (e.g. your-store.myshopify.com), installation date, and plan type.
• Gift code configuration: internal labels, discount codes, product/collection rules, usage limits, and expiry settings you create in the App.
• Usage events: when an InfluenceGift code is used, we record the shop domain, discount code, and Shopify order ID. We do not store customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, or payment details from those orders.
• Authentication data: OAuth access tokens and session data required for the App to communicate with Shopify on your behalf. This is standard for all Shopify apps.

We do not intentionally collect personal data about your customers (buyers/checkout users) beyond what is needed to detect that a gift code was used on an order.

4. How we use information

• Provide and operate the App (create, manage, and track gift codes).
• Authenticate with Shopify and respond to your actions in the Admin.
• Process mandatory GDPR webhooks when required by Shopify.
• Improve reliability, security, and future features (e.g. usage analytics for merchants).

We do not sell merchant or customer data to third parties.

5. Where data is stored

App data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted by Railway (cloud infrastructure). Data is associated with your shop domain and is logically separated from other merchants’ data.

6. Data retention and deletion

• When you uninstall the App, we delete authentication sessions for your store. Other store data may be removed in accordance with Shopify’s mandatory shop/redact GDPR webhook (typically within 48 hours after uninstall).
• You may contact us to request deletion of your store’s data at any time.

7. GDPR and customer data requests

InfluenceGift does not store personal customer data (names, emails, addresses) from buyers. If Shopify sends a customer data request webhook to our App, we respond that no customer personal data is stored. Shop data deletion requests are handled via Shopify’s mandatory GDPR webhooks.

8. Third-party services

• Shopify: platform, checkout, Admin API, and hosting of app extensions.
• Railway: application and database hosting.
• Hostinger: corporate website and email (devhoot.com).

These providers process data only as needed to operate the App and our business.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices including HTTPS, secure credential storage in environment variables, and access controls on production infrastructure. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we work to protect your data using reasonable measures.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
